All these cap room and nothing to show for it

And the cheapo couldnt dish out extra 10K to keep Rod Davis
What is happening at the secondary position? RB position? Where are the high profile free agents that were supposed to be signed?

Three days into FA and all Tillspin has to show for it is one giant poop...

    Very sad indeed

Yup, Carr, Koch and Don O are just poop, I guess.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

Tillman is up to something. There has to be more to his plan than what we've seen so far. Gutting a better than .500 team to sign a #3 import receiver and two Canadian backups. I am not buying it. He's up to something or chewing Ambien by the mouthful.

I'd go with the latter....plus maybe some Xanax for added benefit. Don't kid yourself - there is no master plan.

Well until that great and glorious master plan becomes evident, I'm feeing worse and worse about the Esks upcoming season. I can't see how this team will possibly improve on last season's record. You never know, but there's no real reason to think things are going to get better. We'll see.

Hahaha I hope nobody on the site has daughters who are babysitters........ I still think the Homer Simpson defense might have been better. 2F06.jpg http://es.simpsons.wikia.com/wiki/Homer_Badman

Reed said he can see it from the fans’ perspective.

“I can understand Joe Public. You look at the accounting book, at one side of the list and then the other and you ask ‘Where’s the plan? What’s the plan?’

The bottom line, though, is no Ricky Ray and nothing to show for all that extra cap space his departure created.

“We created the cap space and no splash,” Tillman admitted.

“Nobody has more cap space. The cap space can still play out. If Marcus Howard, for example, is leading the league in sacks next year, we can use it to extend his contract. If Jerome Messam comes back, we can use it to extend him. There are long-term benefits. You can use $100,000 to give five guys $20,000 extra to keep them, or three guys $33,000 to keep them.

“I use the salary cap different than anybody else in the league.”

ET... he does it differently than anybody else in the league

                    Awesome.

Tillman has staked this teams future, and a hall of fame QBs tenure with this club on "ifs" for sometime down the road.

My hope is, if they cheaping out at key positions and trading a top-three QB for a lousy asset return leads to a drop in the standings this year, Tillman isn't around at this time in 2013.

He's making some very risky and illogical bets, and if they don't pan out, he should lose his job. It's that simple.

The only way that happens is if you see an extreme dip in Game day attendance and merchandise sales, and I just don't see that happening.

Wow ! "Joe Public" how offensive is that. Real disconnect there. This is a gate driven league. Fans expect value for plopping down thousands of dollars on season tickets. The core of CFL paying fans are hardcore, knowledgeable fans.

Yes we know he uses the cap differently, that explains going over 3 consecutive years. Banking your SMS budget plain does not fly. Every team has a Messam out there, some have more than one. Terrible way of thinking IMO. This is a QB driven league and winning a GC with Joseph was an anomaly. Winnipeg squeezed into the GC with a hurt QB. Trying to replicate that is futile. Setting up a Stubbler defense with him on a one year contract.

Review. He struck out using Ray's salary cut on Bauman, he struck out in free agency this year after shipping Ray out of town which had a direct impact on free agents so did losing Barnes, he completely miscalculated the human repercussions of his choices and his horseshoe fell out of his ass with Messam bolting to the Dolphins where IMO he will make it as a situational RB. He's costing the Fins peanuts. If he should happen to come back there are al kinds of ways of handling it. You may have extra cash from injuries, you may have guys who have not played up to their pay grade. That's why you have a GM. In the mean time people are paying for their seats at Commonwealth not Sun Life Stadium.

Wow ! just Wow ! Talk about spin...

Agreed that the only true way to show your not happy with the moves is to not go to the game. But that is actually happening already, 2011 was the lowest average attendance since 2000. That included a 5 win season in 2007. In a little bit of fairness the decline started 2006 but if the average attendance drops to under 30k upper management would perk up and make changes.
