If you read John Mackinnon's article in the Journal today you would swear that it would be perfectly logical for Reed to start KJ next week. Heck, KJ may even lead us to success in the playoffs!!

Mackinnon has no problem with Reed's logic on a starter, it's all good.

Is there anybody in the Edmonton media who will question decisions?

Kavis Reed thinks he is coaching for his job. He will go with who he feels has the best chance in one game and that could be Joseph (to him). He feels he can't afford a rookie mistake in his mind in a big game. His lame comments about handling a young QB make him look very very bad, just like the 'designating the Rb spot as a NI spot.' He's not a good HC, the team makes way too many basic errors. He's seems to not have an eye for the details.

Funny thing about the QB situation, it has played out EXACTLY the way a few of us on here predicted the day Ray was traded. Jyles sucks, Joseph will be the starter and the young guys will get precious little playing time.

As for the media in this town. It's embarrassing, hockey, football, doesn't matter the guys that cover our pro teams may as well be wearing cheer leader uniforms because that is all they are.

When KR got the job, I feared he was signing a deal with the devil, and that has bourne out. Yes he believes in his brand, but he's prone to too many inexperienced coaching mistakes, no matter how much he bleeds the colors. The fact that the stories exist about him not standing up to his boss at any point in the season do not bode well for team confidence in him, as players also know the games being played behind closed doors.

I think the only way Kavis stays is if the board steps in and pulls the trigger on his boss immediately after the season is over on friday. Even then, that might not save him. Tillspin has the bullet in the chamber with KR's name on it, rest assured

After hearing that they wanted to put Joseph right back in...and that he's starting on Friday...I've lost any and all respect for Kavis. When it's clear to even my Mom that Kerry is not the answer...that's saying something right there.

VERY frustrating, it'sw clear to all that we are NOT grey cup contenders, why not give Nichols some extremly valuable reps in this next game and if they can pull that one out, in the playoffs. Everyone knows what we have in J & J, no one can say with 100% certainty what we have in MN. LETS FIND OUT.

To those that attend Fridays game, lets get a "We want Nichols" Chant going.

Hard to start a chant when there's only going to be a few thousand in the stands. There are TONS of tickets available for the game at this point and I doubt it's going to be a busy game.

I think a lot of their success is based on the experience of the coaches around them. Huff had Chris Jones for a long time, now Rick Campbell (think of him however, you want he has loads of experience). Trestman has Reinebold.

Kavis has no OC and when he did it was a guy with less than 5 years of coaching experience, and a defensive coordinator in his second year of coordinating.

Terry Jones. He's the only one who continues to beat the "Ray trade was terrible" drum.

Mark Nelson has more than enough experience IMO and is just as capable as Campbell...I'm not saying that to put down Campbell who I also have a lot of respect for but rather to point out that Nelson is every bit as able to do the job...as far as the OC is concerned couldn't agree with you more...they desperately need an experienced guy...if KR survives and LaPolice doesn't get another HCing job he'd be a fool to not try and grab him for this staff.

Might be more to losing Campbell than we thought. He was asst. head coach last year and we saw far fewer game day mistakes..

What the players see is a guy that isn't getting the job done but repeatedly gets another chance to stink up the joint while others who either because of a missed play or other misconception - are on someone's sh!tlist and therefore get reamed/benched because of it. It's not that they don't like Kerry as a person, more that they don't like how he got his position...

I agree with that, but if players are goin out there and deliberately not playing... Then they should be released instantly IMHO..
