    Tillman screwed Edmonton

Yesterday I watched the Grey Cup like many others, and saw Ricky Ray lead Toronto to a victory. This did not surprise me at all because Ray is the best QB in the CFL. As a matter of fact he has been the best QB in the CFL for the last few years despite Calvillo's accomplishments.

So what sane person would trade away their marquee QB for essentially nothing?! Ray is a proven winner, young, and most importantly durable. Wally Buono unloaded Buck Pierce to Winnipeg because he had Lulay, who was more than capable to take over. Who did Edmonton have on the bench?

The problems Edmonton have experienced over the last 2 years were not Ray's fault. How do you expect to compete when your entire offense consists of Ray and Stamps?

Ray won TO a Grey Cup and might win them a couple more before he retires. Edmonton on the other hand could spend the next few years with a losing record while trying to find a decent QB.

Don't get me wrong, as a Bomber fan I love the so called "city of champions" losing their marquee QB . I don't agree however with what Tillman might have done. A Grey Cup winner in TO or Montreal makes me ill.

We all know how badly the CFL wanted TO in the 100th Grey Cup. The question is how far did they actually go to make this happen? Did Tillman get a "envelope" under the table to sell out Edmonton and put Ray in TO? Was Tillman promised something down the road? If Ray had went to any other team than TO, I would not be so suspicious.

None of this makes any sense.

No it doesn't. Many people in Edmonton have been trying to answer those questions for almost a year now.

And we still haven't found answers, for the most part.

Then again, when in doubt, Occam's Razor generally applies - "all things being equal, the simplest explanation is usually correct". In this case, the phrase "Eric Tillman is an idiot" would be that simple explanation.

It makes sense. Tillman believed his own hype. He thought he had it all figured out. He thought he couldn't be wrong. He was delusional.

The other possiblity is that tillman was tired of being bashed on Esksfans. He realized he would never be accepted and decided to scuttle the ship while he was still aboard.

Either way, Tillman's name is now mud after things played out exactly the way many said they would. All of his fluffing is done out of the public eye, which is good.

I counter your Occam's razor in this case with a Hanlon's razor.

Just as everyone in the West, (except for clued in Esks Fans), were happy to have Ray leave, if i was a Fan of an East team other than the Argos i would be pretty upset. Get used to facing him year after year.

Thanks for the update. I wasn't aware of this..... I can't wait till the Esks hire a new GM so that everyone can move on and hate someone else and the moves he makes

There is a lot of info out there for conspiracy theorists to have a field day. From their 1 million dollars to promote themselves, to getting Ray for nothing right down to Calgary not bothering to show up and play how they had been for the previous weeks. They'll even take note of Cohon's permanent **** eating grin he was sporting .

Bottom line is Tillman is an egotistical douchebag.

I honestly have an Oliver Stone like suspicion of that kicker trade. His 1st big trade is a joke, the writing is on the wall, lets screw the franchise after spending a night with Jack Daniels and reading a fan site ripping me. I am going to show them who is boss.

He made the deal 100% on his own. Not a soul inside the igloo knew it happened until after.
