Rumour: QB Pat White Signed by Esks??

This article was posted just a few days ago (Friday) on Si.com.... Kind of unclear if the Esks have actually signed him or not. It did take the team a few months to announce the Jacory Harris signing after it was rumoured to have happened, so maybe the same case here?

"After receiving an inquiry from the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League in January, White decided to give football one more try. So after Geno Smith and company finish their workouts at West Virginia's pro day on March 14, White will try to show scouts he still belongs in the game. "

Doesn't actually say that we signed him...can anyone report on this guy? I don't really follow the NFL anymore.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

Esks don't seem to have much luck with left-handed quarterbacks ... but the kid has wheels.
In 4 years at West Virginia, 6000 yards passing and 4500 yards rushing.

Yeah, not saying he signed at all, just that we contacted him.

Could be nothing more than throwing a line into the water.
Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.

He was a great QB at WV

Wonder how much he still has, or has he been nfl'ised

We don't want this guy. Fun to read about him, but not what we need. Maybe a camp arm.

On the weblink there is an ad for George Whitfield Jr., The QB Whisperer. A cool video. I wish the Esks would send our guys to see him.
                      Watch it!

Post-Draft Outlook: COULD SURPRISE: West Virginia quarterback Pat White has suddenly emerged as competition for Chad Henne as the heir apparent to Chad Pennington. White, who of course, was picked to direct the trendy "Wildcat" offense, taking over for RB Ronnie Brown, but GM Jeff Ireland made it clear that he is in the running at quarterback. However, his 6-foot, slight frame suggests otherwise, but still he is the Big East's all-time leading rusher with 4,480 yards (and multipurpose yards) at quarterback, not to mention a leader who has garnered MVP honors in his last three bowl-led victories. A closer look at the Dolphins' picks: Round 2/44 -- Pat White, QB/RB/WR, 6-0, 190, West Virginia...Despite comments to the contrary, the Dolphins cemented their commitment to enhancing the Wildcat formation with White taking over, or at least becoming a very strong second fiddle to RB Ronnie Brown's linchpin role. - by The Sports Xchange

02/28/13 - Geno Smith may be the most coveted quarterback in the 2013 draft class, but as far as West Virginia fans are concerned, he may not even be the best Mountaineer quarterback on the field when scouts flock to Morgantown on March 14 for pro day workouts. As of Tuesday, the title could belong instead to 27-year-old, ex-Mountaineer great Pat White, who left WVU just as Smith was arriving in 2009, and now plans to return to his alma mater to revive his career after a three-year hiatus.

"Relaunch" was the word used by White's private coach, George Whitfield, who announced the pending comeback Tuesday night in a series of tweets that included photos of White working out in Whitfield's California facility and praise for his client's "seamless transition" from baseball. White, an Alabama native who currently lives in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has already attempted to gin up interest by traveling to the Senior Bowl in January and connecting with as many NFL coaches, scouts and front office types as possible.

"I just wanted to come show my face and show my interest," White told reporters last month. "Shake hands, get names, put names to faces and I guess let them know that my body is still healthy, my football mind is still intact, and I want to give it another shot."

At West Virginia, of course, White was better known for creating chaos in defenses than enduring it, racking up a 34-8 record as a starter with a pair of top-10 finishes in Heisman voting and school records for total offense (since broken by Smith) and touchdowns. - Matt Hinton, CBSSports.com

The guy was a great player and good QB at WV. His game is well suited to the CFL. Took a very bad knock to the head though in Miami. I would be excited if he did get him signed. He's 10 times the prospect that Jacory Harris is imo.
