The average spread? Do you honestly believe the stuff you type? That might be the average spread for an elite team at the end of the season. Certainly not at the half way point.

The Riders are +110, the Stamps are +64 and the Esks are -50. How on earth can you say our offence and defence is about the same as those two teams? Ridiculous.

If Hamilton would have shown anything in their game that spread wouldn't be so skewered. Look at the whole picture, not the one snap-shot in time.

1 other thing that annoyed me was the pick play Calgary kept getting away with.. One td pass to price was so blatant yet wasn't called..

Blatant and 10 feet in front of trhe zebra who was looking at his watch or something

Personally, I didn't think either of the plays mentioned in the OP were flags. But Calgary ran that pick play over and over again with no flag and that's frustrating

Yeah I have to disagree with you on this one. The D played their best game of the year and by no means were being outplayed the way the score might have indicated. It honestly came down to a handful of absolute horse s*** bad calls that put us in the hole early.

I agree with others in this thread. I hate getting on the officials after a loss, but for reasons I can't begin to understand they certainly seemed to have made a conscious decision to make this game tough on the Esks from the get go.

Yeah......... D laid a huge Hershey all game long.... although reffing didn't help. Stamps move the ball at will for 85% of the game and we didn't get after them nor capitalize on some positional opportunities. If we start slow on Friday the end result will be the same... actually it will be the same anyways 'cause Huff WILL NOT make the same mistake twice.... unlike some other coaches we know.....................

Not kidding.

Of course the secondary 'stuck'. There were two guys playing new positions and that unit was bad enough to begin with.

If you look at the game they put together as a whole, it was an improvement over what we've seen most of the year in many aspects. They made a few mistakes and had a few really tough breaks that the Stamps capitalized on but it was a good effort overall, especially from the front seven.

The Refs called pass interference on Rowundga because that was the only time he was close to a reciever.It surprised them.
As for the pick plays,you go right at the guys head or take a knee out and that stops it pretty quick

Hell ya.... I'd be game for that............... if the ref won't make the call give the receiver the "Joey"(WHACK........ hey, how U doin'!!!!!!!!!!!).

Bud Steen was on Gregor's show on Tuesday (**sidebar, it's usually an EXCELLENT segment**) and he mentioned that the CFL is considering / looking at adding another field judge to the officiating crew.

The idea would be that the current field judge would be positioned 5 yards closer to the line of scrimmage but -- and this is key -- he'd be on the hashmark. The new Ref would be in the same position, but on the OTHER hashmark.

In this way, every single receiver would have eyes on him for the entire route - in theory, leading to better / more consistent pass interference and related calls.

The downside, like EVERYTHING is (a) money and (b) finding enough competent guys to add another 6-8 refs.

The extra body doesn't mean spit if it isn't a competent body... maybe then he could teach the rest of them!!!!!!!!!!
