After a superb 1st half against the Als, the Esks collectively took their foot off the gas in the second half and it showed. Call it left overs from the bye week or what have you, but they have to learn the lesson of going for the throat when you have a team beat pillar to post. It's easier to learn this against weaker teams as it helps you seize the moments that come up against better ones when you have them on the ropes. Just like in boxing you need to recognize when you have your opponent ready to go and you step it up and deliver the knockout blows
Staying out east is a great move for the squad, in a team building sense, and a game prep sense. No time adjustments, and the team gets to deal with local things like humidity, etc during practice. The reDBlaCKs play hard but are talent mismatches right now. Jones will no doubt be pounding the message of not playing a full game and I expect this team will not take them lightly.
Stop Walker and you make Hank be Frank, should be the key. On offence I like how the ground game is becoming a bigger part of the gameplan, but we need to make sure we don't go to the well on certain plays too often, ie, the zone/search plays to the right side that Mtl sniffed out regularly. Hopefully Blanco is ready for this week as he's just starting to show what he can do in terms of making teams have to account for him. Lawrence has been an excellent 1-2 punch and if we can continue to attack defences in the middle, that will open up big plays in the second/third levels of the opponent's defence.
