That being said, it was probably good for Nichols that Ottawa was so bad. It allowed him to get his feet wet.
That test will come this Friday when they play Ottawa again...

To me it was never about what I accomplished on the football field, it was about the way I played the game.

It's bad enough that they lost their starting RB who was probably the second best back in the league behind Cornish in training camp for the year. Then they lose the starting QB who's the heart and soul of the team for most of the year in game one. I don't see the offense putting up big points but I would love to be wrong.

Here's what you said before the game about what the Esks needed to do to win - sounds like you're calling it a test...
Tough assignment for Nichols considering the 2nd best back in the league and the heart and soul of the team were out for the game. Guess he did okay...

...and yes, Friday's game will be an even tougher challenge with that Ottawa crowd.
Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

Add the heat and wicked humidity.
When you don't know that you don't know, it's a lot different than when you do know that you don't know.

It was 40 degrees at field level for last game...which was just a little less uncomfortable than the 41 degrees in Ft.Mac. Talking to some of the guys and they said it was brutal until the sun started to go behind the building.

It will be his toughest test this season so far for sure...... I see us being in tough for this one. Hate to say it but split with Ottawa would not surprise me. That said if we run Bell early and often successfully I think we could squeak out a "ball control" win.

Are you heading up the road to see it live SV?

My summer schedule doesn't work to see much of the Esks this year. I will be able to get to the game in the Hammer though.

I plan to go up to Ottawa and watch a game there - great crowd (southside) - likely the one on Sep 26 vs the Argos.
