    TSN hates the oilers

Does anybody else think this.My god watching last night oilers avs game. i was so disgusted by the annoucers love of the avs.it not just that game they seem to go against us no matter who the oilers play. and even when the oilers are winning. last night those two couldnt get enough of the avs. even when the oilers came back to take the lead they still thought the avs were the greatest team in the world made me sick. a avs player would have the puck and for ten minutes they would go on about the player and how he doing this year.then get so excisted when the avs scored .but didn't when the oilers did.

then when the oilers goalie would make a save they seemed disappointed.I just hate tsn doing a oilers game for this reason. i cant take much of those guys they were so annoying. i expect this because tsn doesnt like the eskimos either.they were the same all season suport the other teams.

Sorry - didn't see that at all from my perspective. Thought it was a well balanced call of the game. Then again, I don't think the Oilers rule, so my perspective might not be as biased as yours...
Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

Well...it could be them trying to appeal more to the US market? Or it might be that they didn't notice the Avs players falling all over the place...
Or it could have been that the passing seemed better for the avs or they were a faster skating team...
I don't know, I really know jack about hockey, but it seems like the Oil was lucky last night and still seem like they're not in the same league as a lot of the other teams out there.
Not trying to ruffle feathers, just an uneducated observer, who still cheers for the Oilers...even if we do trip on the blue line a little more often than we should...

Aww are you jealous of Ryan O'Reilly? How cute. Lets see the Avs were in the basement last year and now they are fighting for first, so that's interesting. The Oilers were irrelevant last year and continue to be a non playoff team, not interesting. Considering this was a national game your not going to get the homer call of Sportsnet. My suggestion to you Oilersrule would be to stick to the radio with Rod and Bobby who still pretend the Oilers matter.

Sorry man, I watched the whole game didn't see any of that. With all the kids in the line up, its pretty hard not to be surprised at how well they are doing.
Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

            Re: TSN hates the oilers

Why would anyone want to get excited for an underachieving Oiler team that had been sucking badly (4-game losing streak before last nights game and 12th in the conference standings) on a national broadcast, as opposed to an overachieving team of youngsters that has the 2nd highest number of points in the conference.

The solution is simple actually. If you don't like the TSN broadcast audio, mute the TV and listen to the radio...
There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

              Seems to many fans if the announcers don't bust a nut every time their favourite team completes a pass that they feel the announcers are anti-{insert team here}

In reality, I think a lot of it is their own bias clouding their judgement
Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

It wasnt too bad with the TSN broadcast, they did praise O'Sullivan when he scored and actually one of the best stations for praising the Oilers has been Versus even though less than 100,000 homes have it. (nice tv deal Gary)

                    Re: TSN hates the oilers

My experience is no matter how good something is, there is always someone who will complain. There isn't a reporter who has ever worked in this town who doesn't get blasted by someone because he/she is biased, not biased enough, or whatever. Same goes for broadcasters.

Same goes for refs, by the way. It's funny that after a game the fans from both teams will complain that their team got the short stick with the on-field calls.

There are a lot of whiners. I think lots of fans would love to be a reporter covering the team and are envious of those who do.

Sportsnet hates the Oilers. TSN shows tha max number of Oilers games as per their contract (I think it is twelve).

Sportsnet showed 48 Oilers games last year. This year they said they wanted to drop 8 games. So they dropped to 40. The 8 games had to be picked up by Pay Per View. Thanks to Sportsnet we have more Pay Per View games than any NHL team in Canada.

They didn't think their was any interest for those 8 games.

                        Re: TSN hates the oilers

If it was Saturday night and Mark Lee was doing the call for CBC, I might agree.

The fact that Ray Ferraro calls it like it is may be hard to take especially when you are losing in the scoreboard. The Oilers can be their own worst enemy on a regular basis and Ray had seen enough of their play to know.

To be honest they aren't exactly at the top of my viewing priorities. It seems that its an afterthought for me to watch them lately.

You are not alone, I have season tickets and the Colorado game had a lot of empty seats. It is the first time in many years I have seen entire rows empty. I overheard a scalper say to someone outside say he didn't want someones tickets as he couldn't even sell the ones he currently had.

look just becuase the oilers are in the bottom and the avs are on top that no reason for the announcers to go on about it even when the oilers were in six place at the beginning of the year these guys did the samething.they also did the samething when the eskimos played even when they were winning.

i just find the tsn anouncers just annoying period and it not jealousy either they are just annoying, like they should be doing the game when it no score it. it or tied not sit there talking amoung themselves for ten minutes about every player for the opposion and that what they do. and it annoying
