I doubt that she took a cheque to stay with him. She would have gotten a big cheque anyway. Besides, if she too money to stay with him, then she's a bigger whore than he is.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

Come on man, we aren't talking about getting a BJ once from a stripper or a one night stand where Tiger got liquored up and made a bad choice, we are talking dozens and dozens of girls, doing them multiple times over several years. That's probably the worst part. If he had a 1 mistress even though it is still a terrible thing, having 1 girl instead of 30 or whatever the number is at least a little bit better. There is the chance for some kind of STD or some kids. At least if there was only 1, you can kind of control that vs banging random girls all over the place, there is no you could. It's just pure luck with that number he was with.

Unless she is Mother Teresa reborn she definitely got something for her "forgiveness". I'm sure a small part was for the kids but that can only count for so much.
Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

Here is an interesting read on a couple who understands the temptations of being a professional athlete and the sanctity of marriage.

Men can certainly be broken, and not just on sex, even the will to live... just walk through a mall and see those poor souls sitting on benches surrounded by bags waiting for their wives, they look like shells of a human... but I wouldn't put Tiger in that grouping, all indications are he's always been a guy has incessantly chased tail his entire adult life.

In my nearly thirty years (I emphasis the NEARLY again), I have observed a few things... and regarding guys and fidelity, I would break us down into four, roughly equal, groupings.

Group A - Will hump anything that moves. They will do or say almost anything, and fidelity is no obstacle. When if comes to sex these guys are near sociopathic, they will not only cheat, but they won't feel any guilt over it either. I would put Tiger in this group.

Group B - Will hump almost anything that moves, but would feel remorseful about it. These guys would like to remain faithful, but also like the strange... and is a battle that continually plays out. These guys usually won't seek out women to cheat with, but usually won't turn down an opportunity either.

Group C - Generally faithful... but can be broken under the extreme circumstances. These guys typically don't stray, but if neglected/mistreated enough in their relationship can be driven to it... or if a girl is really, really, persistent on the other end.

Group D - Totally faithful. Yes ladies they do exist... but most are either snapped up immediately or are the type that don't get out much (to put it delicately).
Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

My experience that among people who are not pro athletes or rock stars, women cheat as much or more than men.

I think these groupings are somewhat fair, but sometimes there are situations that do not fit into any of these...

People cheat for a lot of reasons... there becomes increasingly more if the man or woman has money/power/fame. I wouldn't put Tiger into your 'Group A' necessarily. He seems like a young man who fell victim to his circumstances. I DO believe he felt guilt, he just became addicted to the buzz that he got from various woman. It is like a drug... Sometimes thing just can't be categorized.

Each situation is different and only the husband and wife can decide what is best for them and how they should move on from the infedelity. There are things more important than money... and some things are worth fighting for. Until you are faced with this reality - it is really unfair to judge someone who is.

Here is a good article by the ever entertaining Matt Taibbi... A Field Guide to Sports Egos

                  http://www.mensjournal.com/a-field-guide-to-sports-egos

                  Stage Five: Tiger Woods

Stylistically, Tiger doesn’t really belong with a lot of the guys on this list — he doesn’t need a self-aggrandizing midcareer legal name change, and it’s hard to imagine him wearing a Jose Canseco–style see-through chemise — but he does ably represent one key element of the self-importance game: the total inability to grasp concepts like empathy, loyalty, and shame. That generally means you need an agent or a lawyer to tell you you’re sorry for humiliating your wife with every fake-titted skank in the Western hemisphere — and if you do issue a public apology for said transgressions, you do so in a way that is actually both self-congratulatory (“I have not been true to my values”) and shifts the blame onto others (“I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means”). It’s no coincidence that Tiger takes his cues from another notorious egomaniac: He reportedly discussed plans to buy a “Kobe special,” a reference to the $4 million diamond ring Bryant bought his wife after his own gash-hounding became public.

I couldn't care less what they do, that's their business and their prerogative... I just don't think the world should be surprised if/when it happens again.

Which kind of reminds me of a friend of mine from university... he would go from one long-term relationship to the next, but the trouble was that the transitions weren't just instantaneous, but there was some overlap. He'd date a girl for a couple years... then another girl would decide she wanted him, and as you described earlier, wouldn't take no for an answer, wear him down, break him... then there would be a couple months of "drama" and he comes out the otherside with girl #2 on his arm... then a year or two later, history repeat yet again.

I'm not saying I necessarily condone how he handled the situations... I just always found it funny how the outgoing girls would always be shocked how it goes down. They all worked from the same playbook to steal him in the first place... but then somehow couldn't comprehend that he was also susceptible to other women doing the same thing.

Again, not saying it's right, but you can't be surprised when you end up reaping what you sow. And guys are just as bad, for some reason both sexes really get the blinders up when they decide they dig on someone... and thus end up rationalizing all sorts of abhorrent behavior.

If I had an opportunity to stray with a beautiful woman with no chance of being busted, I'd politely decline and probably tell her that I'm flattered but I already have a great woman who satisfies me in every way, and I would never do anything to jeopardize that or break my vows to her. I'm nailing "this poor soul" to the wall because he admitted to sleeping with 18 or 19 women while he's been married. Who's to say there aren't more. Tiger is a "poor soul?" Give me a break! Well said....I'm am not married, but once I do find a woman who am I willing to commit the rest of my life to then I will do exactly that. If that never happens, then so be it, but I will not get married only to step out and be unfaithful. That's just not respectable.
