    Re: 2018 Winter Olympics

Some renewed rumblings of a Russian boycott after several of their medal favourites were deemed ineligible.

This is aside from the 39 athletes currently appealing their lifetime bans in the Court of Arbitration of Sport, which isn't expected to rule until next week and could stir up an entirely new hornets nest if they overturn them.
Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

If you're wondering when specific events start I made a handy little spreadsheet with times and days listed for both Korean time and Mountain time.

So the Court of Arbitration totally overturned 28 of the Russian lifetime bans, and partially overturned 11 others.

What this means for this year, who knows, but everyone will be suing everyone in the next week.

That's why there are so many jokes about lawyers. Reminds me of the European judges in figure skating a few years ago.

I have no clue how many medals we will have but I'll be watching some of the events for sure.

Men’s slopestyle snowboarding gets us our first two medals. Silver and bronze with the US getting the surprise gold.

Remarkable how the US always manages to get a suprise win with a bloated score in this event...

I think this is the second time Parrot has been robbed of the gold medal, but at least he got a medal this time around. Last time there was no rhyme or reason to the scoring at all... this time at least it made some sense. I agree with the podium, just not the order.

Ted-Jan Bloemen won silver in the men’s 5000m speedskate overnight! As for the snowboarding, I don’t have nearly good enough eye to spot how it’s judged, all I know is that wow slopestyle is one wild sport to watch!!

Good thing Kaitlyn Lawes redeemed herself in curling later in the game as she was dreadful about half way through the game. It should have been a hand shake game early with all the blown chances.

Medals are really rolling in for Canada! Gold in men’s moguls and team figure skating, silver in ladies Slopestyle, and luckily John Morris and Katelyn Lawes are the gold medal game tomorrow morning in mixed doubles curling. Definitely looking like it’ll be a great Olympics for Canada!
