Re: New Rules All Good Ideas!!!!

Yeah, no more gimmick rules. We had enough major changes last year. Let's give those a couple years to see how things work out.
Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

      Here's a cool new rule:
Enforce the ones we already have.

Just crazy enough, it might work!

Radical, very radical. Such sweeping changes would have to be implemented in stages so that we would not be referred to as the Confused Football League.

My proposed rule would be that major fouls near a goal line are not just half-the-distance to the goal penalties. Count off the whole yardage right to the one yard line. These are generally serious fouls that endanger a player or affect the outcome of the previous play dramatically. Would like to see them treated more like P.I. and less like offside.

I'm pretty sure I've seen that same fan keep spamming the TSN.ca comments section with that "inside the 20" rule, and just like in this thread, the guy gets blasted every time (and deservedly so).

The real scary part about this for me is that the new commissioner seems like the type who might just incorporate this rule or something equally absurd on the basis of "listening to the fans"...
Keep an open mind, and you never know who might walk in...

                  RIP Pizmo

Has to pass through the rules committee, which is football people.

Officiating can be cured with $. Since the CFL has little $ to spare, the officiating stays as it is.

Actually they did float the idea at the last state of the union address by the commissioner to include Americans for consideration as on-field officials to address this issue...the one rule change I'd like to see is to allow coaches the ability to challenge offensive pass interference.

Exactly what does that mean? That sounds like a more expensive solution.

More money for training and salaries would definitely improve the range of skills and quality of individuals working our games, but judging from the NFL this season, money is not always the answer when it comes to fixing officiating error.
