    Predict the standings

Time to embarrass ourselves for another year I know there's another thread asking for how the Esks will do this year, but I'm interested in the whole league. Don't forget to make your wins and losses altogether add up to 72.

    East:

Montreal 12-6: Calvillo still has it, and in the face of predictions of doom they seem to regenerate well every year.
Hamilton 10-8: Burris seems to have some of his mojo back. Fantuz will help, but won't be a saviour.
Toronto 8-10: Any team with Ray will do at least OK, but OL and surrounding cast don't look impressive.
Winnipeg 7-11: Lots of holes sprung in the past off-season. Pierce living a charmed life will end, but backups are OK.

    West:

BC 14-4: Right now they look unbeatable. At the end of the season it'll look the same.
Calgary 9-9: Tate isn't quite ready to be a star. He may get there, but not this year. Glenn may play a role.
Edmonton 6-12: I don't think you can win in this league without a QB, regardless of strengths elsewhere...and we have no QB.
Saskatchewan 6-12: Few of their holes have been patched effectively. Durant isn't good enough to carry the team.

If we're doing playoffs, I guess this would mean an East crossover. I'd say BC over Montreal in the GC.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

      Re: Predict the standings

      East

Hamilton 10-8: Hank will shine in Hamilton
Montreal 10-8: A subpar year for AC?
Toronto 9-9: Milanovich will make the best of a team with holes. As long as Ray stays safe, they make the playoffs
Winnipeg 8-10: Not that Winnipeg is that bad, but someone has to finish 4th.

      West

BC 13-5: Tons of depth; can't see them not taking the top spot
Calgary 10-8: This is Cornish & Tate's team now, but Glenn & Coker are on the sidelines just in case.
Edmonton 7-11: Kavis will get the most out of his guys, but I see too many holes for the Esks to be competitive.
Saskatchewan 6-12: Like the Esks, lots of holes - & lesser coaches.
Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

Some one needs to tell them this over on riderfans where most predictions would result in having 80+ wins, and 60 or less losses by seasons end.

              West

Lions 13 - 5: Plugged the holes in the roster fairly well and offense will be firing on all cylinders early. Only the injury bug can prevent the Lions from winning the West.

Esks 9 - 9 : The D is as good as the Offense is bad. Jyles gives way to Joseph by game 5 and then Nichols by game 10, none of them look very good. The receivers make something out of nothing enough and the high pressure D line allow the secondary to jump many routes.

Stamps 9 - 9: have taken a few chances this season as they rebuild, the biggest is in a new DC Rick Campbell. Campbell was the Esks DC for 2005 to 2008. The Defense progressively got worse over that time. The Offense will make up for the D.

Riders 5 - 13 : They are still a 5 - 13 team with plenty of youth that will need patience.

              East

Ti-Cats 11 - 7: Burris and the new receivers make magic happen most nights. The D is good enough, but the Special teams is a big question mark.

Als 10 - 8: The Defense will be an issue all season long, but the offense will more than make up for it many nights. The ST will be very good.

Argos 7 - 11: No O-Line means Ray is in trouble most nights, but Ray has enough skilled players to dink and dunk his way down the field and score. The D still a WIP. ST good.

Bombers 7 - 11: New O-Line and Offense, but same old result low scoring. Defense takes a step back.
Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that.

                West:
Lions 15-3: Hands down the class of the west, if not the league. The only thing that might beat this team is themselves
Stamps 9-9: They picked a good time to rebuild as they can still pick on Saskatchewan and Edmonton
Riders 6-12: Can't be any worse than last year, especially since the Esks have downgraded. Still at risk of missing the playoffs due to the East crossing over.
Esks 5-13: No QB. Downgrade at RB. Lost a great D coordinator that will now make the best team even better, while letting key players walk. But hey, I'll be an optimist here and say we can catch 5 teams napping.

                East:
Als 11-7: I keep predicting that Calvillo is done, and I keep getting proven wrong. The guy is unnatural, so I'm going to stop betting against him until he proves otherwise.
Ticats 9-9: Toss-up for second in the east, but Burris will make the difference.
Bombers 8-10: Not great, but they'll manage to stay in there.
Argos 8-10: Ray takes a while to find his stride in his new colors, but turns it on in time to secure the cross-over.

Betting man says BC beats Montreal in the Grey Cup
Conspiracy theorist says that Toronto crosses over and makes it to the final against Montreal before running out of gas, at which time Calvillo announces his retirement

It will be very interesting I think the GC may easily be Edm Tor which can set the winner of the trade

I think Wpg is one of the hardest teams to rank this year from an outsider perspective... and I'm guessing the Garrett news may alter this outlook slightly.

Very, very nice depth at QB and Buck showed as durable last year, but facing some significant changes along the O-line. Upgrades at Receiver through growth and development though might feel the loss of Carr, and have dropped to the bottom end in terms of RB (at least known commodities). Coaching change for OC is likely a good thing even for the sake of change.

DL minus Brown, Donny O and Willis is largely remade, secondary remains as good as their is, LB corps has some questions but has to be somewhat promising if they can cut a popular vet like Kent on the right side of 30.

I don't see the Bombers running away with the division, and am reminded that they were 3-7 to end the regular season last year, but I don't see them being as bad as many are predicting either. Seem to be some tight team dynamics there and guys feeling a part of something.
                          Life is Good.

Brown and Donny isn;t a big deal, because the NI spot was intentionally moved. RB spot is now toasting us. Receivers I really think are better than they got to show last year. When Carr was injured, Denmark actually took his spot and then took TJ's himself, so hopefully our new OC can make something happen.

I would have said Teams are vastly improved with Simpson returning, but now he'll be needed as an RB. Well, this week is a write off, still feeling okay about the year as I calm down.

Of Note: I realize I'm the only one who doesn't see a good team in Hamilton and that's a longer discussion, but Montreal's Defence is not going to get better under Reinbold. At all. And, as I've mentioned countless times, Aging players don't lose the ability to think or throw, they lose the ability to recover from minor injury. AC's play will decline throughout the season even if not knocked right out of games.
