Maybe this opens up some space for signing other teams FAs in february. It doesnt look like we'll have much player turnover heading into next year so we should really be ahead of most teams early on.
I'm excited to see us build on what is looking like a solid foundation. By all accounts our offense was a complicated one to learn we should be ahead of our 2014 curve just based on the fact that we wont have to start at square 1 with that.

Good to get Howard and especially Washington back. Hate to say it but Paris Jackson signing to me is a real indictment on our NI wr's who have stalled badly. Maybe he'll end up being a hybrid coach/receiver/mentor kind of guy. He did okay at the end of the year last year but we should have enough of our young guys to not even make him an option.

To continue to start at least two Canadian recievers, you would want two back ups for those starters. So after Coehoorn/Chambers starting, you can dress Bailey/****. Training camp can determine the best of Jackson, Foster, Barrette, along with any other pending additions for the spot. Once we lost a starter on the O-line we resorted to starting three: Jackson/Coehoorn/Bailey.

Makes for good competition during camp amongst those NI's. Chambers will be fully healthy by camp and should make waves with Bailey. I could see Coehoorn being the odd man out...

            After sitting out last year...
            Saskatchewan signs receiver Jamal Richardson
            CFL.ca Staff

REGINA -- One of the most dominant receivers of the last decase isn't done yet.

After sitting out 2014, Jamel Richardson has returned to the team that he entered the CFL with, signing a contract with the Saskatchewan greenwhites.

Richardson returns to Saskatchewan for a second stint after originally entering the Canadian Football League with the Green and White in 2003. The Victor Valley College product spent four seasons with the greenwhites where he registered 113 receptions for 1,471 yards and four touchdowns in 30 regular season games.

Richardson missed the 2007 CFL season as he attended training camp with the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys before returning in 2008 with the Montreal Alouettes.

He spent the next six seasons with the Al’s where he amassed 6,603 yards and 48 touchdowns on 473 receptions in 88 regular season games.

For his career, the 32-year-old currently sits 39th in CFL history with 8,074 receiving yards. He has recorded 24 career 100-yard games on his way to being named a CFL All-Star twice (2008, 2011) and a four-time East Division All-Star (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011).

He has won two Grey Cup championships (2009, 2010) and was named the game’s MVP in 2010 after leading the contest with 109 receiving yards on eight receptions.

Richardson was a staple in the Alouettes offence before being released last year during training camp. A brief workout with the Toronto Argonauts failed and he missed the entire 2014 season after sustaining an injury.
Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

              Re: 2015 CFL Free Agents

I think Richardson is a good-but-not-great signing for the Riders. He's not going to be as good as he was in his prime with Calvillo throwing to him, and they already had some decent import receivers, but he does add size and deep ball ability which they have lacked.

It really depends on what their offense will be like next year, because there will definitely be a change in philosophy.

Dude is 32.. Coming of a major rehab and a year away

Guy is talented, but if he still had much upside im certain huff would have kept him around

Jacques philosopy is pass.. Not pass to run, just pass..
He sees a 3 yard arrow to the back the same as a 3 yard run...

It's air raid mentality.. But you gotta be able to run the ball.. And that is something chapdelaine offences have lacked over the years..

Montreal has extended LB Bear Woods, LB Winston Venable, DL Aaron Lavarias, & DL Scott Paxson.

Signing Woods to a 3 year deal was probably one of the biggest signings for Montreal this off-season.

I thought with their history together back in California (and Tedford's need to slow it down a bit), that Cortez would be in the picture.

Yeah, but then again, who hasn't fired Cortez in recent years?

                              Lol true...

But if I'm honest I never felt Cortez was a great Hc but he was a decent OC..

Only 1 year removed from a grey cup win.. Think he def got made the scapegoat of out in sask

                              We will see....

I have only ever been relieved of my duties once as a coach, and it's fair to say I wouldn't be in any hurry to coach alongside that man ever again.... Lol

No disrespect intended to Cortez, but he's gone from a guy that could write his ticket and pick his job, to someone that teams have moved on from in recent years, and I wouldn't have believed it. The same thing has happened to Stubler too, and it's not that these guys get dumb overnight.

I would expect that a lot has to do with how people doing the firing handle that situation, and the more one goes through it, the more appreciation they get for a good approach vs a poorly handled one. In a profession that is hired to be fired, it's part of the territory, but like other professions, bridges can be burned if one or both parties isn't careful.
