    Re: Cheatwood Signed

The RB looks like he has good movement, patience, and burst....the question is whether he can still play at that level. He looks like he could have had a better pro career, but Arizona has been a bad place for RBs the last few years.

I'm interested to see what he can do....could be the one-two punch that we were hoping for with Goldie.

IMO, Cheatwood is done. Really now, if Hamilton doesn't want you....

Anderson definitely used to be the real deal at NW. I like that signing.

Are people not content around here as having Ebell as the starting running back?

I'm happy with Ebell. I'm NOT happy we don't establish the run game more.

As long as he's healthy, sure. I think people are just saying he needs a little support and someone who can carry the load if he's not able to go.
I thought I wanted a career; turns out I just wanted paychecks.

Or have a legitamite 1-2 punch. Have one that can run the hard yards up the middle, and one that can make guys miss.

                      Re: Cheatwood Signed

I was shocked to hear that Cheatwood is only 28. At that age, he's worth a look. If his tank's empty, it won't make our situation much worse.

You never know, maybe he can help fill in the leadership void on this team.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

At this point, I'm solidly on the "it can't hurt to try" camp.

Worst case scenario with Cheatwood isn't any worse than what we're looking at right now.

As for the RB, wait and see, I guess. But I'd guess Goldie's job may be in jeopardy.

Nice to see us get a Big 10 RB. With Ebell and Goldie it gives us a good, better ,best scenario. Hopefully one of them will get lots of work. Can't see Goldie getting cut because they have to pay his salary anyway Think they'll keep him around.
I don't think Goldie will be around come next year. IMO, he's redundant now unless Ebell gets injured again. If the new guy shows well, then GOldie will never get back in.

Hope Cheatwood isn't another old vet that has run out of gas like Montford.
If we were put on this earth to help others, what were the others put on earth for?

I agree, earl. Cheatwood's only 28, so if he has recovered from knee surgery, he may very well have some gass left in the tank. If he proves otherwise, I'm sure he's been given a minimal contract with only 7 games left in the season, and no other team chomping at the bit to compete with contract offers. He might have some decent leadership abilities as well. If he's no good, then we won't see the field much. It's a bit of a rist, but I don't think we're risking much.

                              Re: Cheatwood Signed

My main concern with Cheatwood is his habit of taking bad penalties after the play.

If he can stay away from that, and still has something to give, then I say let him play.
If you were an Argo fan, what reason would you have for watching football?
