    Wow, what a coaching job....

After the fake punt call and the 31 point 1/4, I think the fact the Eskimos are but 2 points from being tied for 1st OVERALL in the CFL, every single coach should be re-upped ASAP. Stunning considering the naysayers (media and posters here) could not, or would not, believe this coaching staff could get it done. Guess what bandwagon jumpers? This team is good. Probably better than the one that Jason Mass carried to the last cup win. Finally the time has come for the coach killers to keep quiet and let this team run. Giver' Esks!!!

bandwagon jumpers? You're calling us bandwagon jumpers? We've had three years of bad results to complain about, and we win one game and you call for contract extensions to all the coaches.....and YOU are calling US bandwagon jumpers???

Probably a reason for the -36 rep on only 4 posts.

You might want to look more carefully at what the criticisms actually are before you take issue with them!

DM having this team at 8-6 is the equivalent of a blind squirrel finding the odd nut.

In the category of woulda, coulda, shoulda .... three of those loses could have easily been wins were it not for poor roster decisions and play calling mistakes.

Now if this team was 11-3 like it should be, you might have a point.

I agree completely. Like my Dad says, "Even a jackass learns after a while". DM shows signs of learning but its been a painfull 3 years for all of us while he gets his _hit together. His lack of proper roster moves, lack of ability in making good calls for a challenge, lack of preperation for opposing teams skill sets (perfect exmple, not preparing for the Als and Calvillos quick release pattern) these things all show that DM doesn't have a really fast learning curve. That being said, I do see progress but he's no coaching guru thats for sure.

We are 8-6 inspite of him, not because of him!

It looks like DM has made an appearance on the boards, who else would be pushing for coaching staff raises.

How about that 14-2 deficit in the first quarter and the fact that we only scored 3 pts in the 2nd half?

                      ...

                      That's what I thought.

DM has deserved some props throughout the season...but also criticism as well.

Don't forget, we are still last in our division, no matter what our record is. He may be doing better than he has the last couple years...but every other west coach is still doing better than he is now, which shouldn't be the case.

Surely you jest. I haven't been one to quickly criticize the coaching staff but they certainly haven't proven that contract extensions are in order. This is definitely the season for DM to show that he is improving as a coach enough for us to keep him and I say let him prove it. These next four games should provide the answer.

Funny that your last sentence is "Finally the time has come for the coach killers to keep quiet and let this team run." All the coach killers have been wanting is this coach to run the ball.

Funny thing......depending on how it can be taken he's not far off....

The coaching itself has been not bad, I think the assistants within their structure have been excellent.

The playcalling however, has been at times again piss poor. That is IMO the biggest black mark when one looks at the overall coaching package...and we know where the problem lies in that area on either side of the ball.

                              well said.

In a somewhat related vein... all the talk in Toronto is how the Leafs have finally admitted that they need to rebuild and that this will mean a dismal season or two. Potentially worst in league bad. Now if that had been said by the Esks Coach/GM it would have lead to people marching in the streets with pitchforks and torches. (In a sense, that did happen.) In Toronto, however, the fans tend to be saying 'I don't like it, but it's the right thing to do. Finally! I'll still be sticking with the team and supporting them no matter what.'

                              Interesting.
