    Whitlock or Porter?

Hypothetically, if management and the coaching staff decide that the Esks can only keep one import as the starting RB this season, who do you keep?

I'm pretty sure both Whitlock and Porter are heading into the last year of the current contracts, and both probably make around league minimum(entry level deals). With Porter's age(only 23) there is the added risk that if he has a big year and his contract is up, he could try the NFL. I'd say Whitlock's chances of making the NFL are nearing an end(he's 26, turns 27 in May).

Keep Porter, Calvin as his backup and trade whitlock for Arland Bruce III

        Both.

If not, keep the one that has the least trade value and get something good back for the other.

This shouldn't be a question of finding room. You can't cut quality (and cheap) football players without getting something back in return. I would assume Whitlock would be the one to go because he's the most proven and would therefore have more trade value (at least IMO)...but I think that would be a mistake. We should keep both.

We'd never get him. Even Hamilton isn't that dumb.

McDaniel, maybe, and I wouldn't be all that unhappy with such a deal. But a guy like McDaniel would have to be the minimum return.

I'd say keep Porter and trade Whitlock, but you wouldn't get much for Whitlock, so keep them both.
Maciocia, Hall, Strasser, Hairston and Thorpe are finally all gone. The rest will take care of itself.

Good luck Kavis Reed and the rest of the Esks' new coaching staff!

I'm sure one of them will stub a toe just before final cuts are made
Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

                  Yup. I'd agree with that.

Personally I'm in the Porter camp. No knock on Whitlock , but IMO Porter brings just a little bit more to the table in ability to block and Porter does not go down on first contact, while Whitlock more times than not did.

i don`t think whitlock did.. he did really well in both 2009 & 2010.. but the emrgance of porter has kinda blurred the lines on how good whitlock is.. besides, i still see whitlock as going to KR

Between the two of them in 2010: 204 carries, zero fumbles.

Find a way to keep them both. Use Whitlock as a returner. Try some novel offensive schemes to keep defenses off balance.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.
