This makes the 3rd Canadian POTW award, to go along with his Canadian player of the month back in July.

All this for a 5th round draft pick in 2013.. Gotta love it!

I'm thinking the dry spell he went through had a lot to do with the injuries we had at receiver, allowing other teams to key in on the run, and our Oline carousel that wasn't opening holes.

Right; forgot about the "conditional" part. Still fantastic -- what we were hoping we could get when we signed Lumsden a few years ago. I agree with cmbuk: we just need him to be more consistent, and it will give us a hell of an advantage, ratio-wise.

529 yards in 11 games is a hair over 48 yards/game. However, we take away the 244 yards he had vs the two times we faced Hamilton, and we're at 285 over 9 games. Let's see what JM can do in the next couple..

The Oline plays a huge role in the running game. They were pretty crappy over a 5 game period. They have started to play way better and suddenly the running and the entire offence is way better. Not a coincidence.

Certainly. Seems to me that the O-line has both been producing, and crushing, star players since about halfway through last season.

Messam does have that physical presence and explosiveness. With consistency and a solid attitude, maybe he has a shot at top Canadian this year.

I agree although the wrinkles where they pitched out and ran a few sweeps helped as well. With 4.4 4.5 speed he sometimes needs room to get that huge frame moving sweeps and off tackle runs are really what he is built for not just straight up the gut.

If Joseph could be trusted to make an unselfish call on a pitch, the sweep/pitch/carry option with Messam it would be a sure six points 5-10 yrds from the goal line. A short lob to wide open Bertrand could also be a great result.

the bunch toss was awesome.. thing is now, they will know is coming when they see mb lined up at te in trips..
you could switch in CMc or use another play, as like most formations, there is more than 1 play off it..

thats the beauty about seasons.. u can add the wrinkles ins as you go along.. all the credit goes to crandell on that.. it WAS prob in the playbook from day 1 but with only 2 weeks of camp, u add plays to you reps as the season progresses.. keep it fresh and have less of a book on you
