(Edmonton) - The Edmonton Eskimos have signed import receiver Terriun Crump to the practice roster.

Crump played three years at Western Illinois University where he finished his collegiate career with 135 receptions for 2,067 yards and 11 touchdowns. In 2011, he led the Missouri Valley Conference in receiving with 61 receptions for 944 yards and six touchdowns. In his senior year, he was named team MVP. Crump signed as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears in April 2012, playing receiver and fullback during training camp.

"Terriun is big, physical prospect who will be competing at slot receiver. He has good hands and the size that will be beneficial when he's utilized as a blocker," says Eskimo General Manager Eric Tillman.

Their starter doesn't have the ability to get the ball to the receivers so what the hell is the point of bringing in another one. They won't give Nichols a chance so seems like a useless move.

I'm not too concerned with his 40. He's a big guy if he has hands he'll help. Besides, inside, it doesn't matter how fast you can run when the defenders slow you up, he has the size and (presumably) strength to fight off jams which would render him wide open. He's one I'll watch for next year.

You don't need to be super fast indeed. Just find the soft spots and make the catch. Fantuz does this well.
