TORONTO -- The Canadian Football League announced today that it has fined Edmonton Eskimo linebacker Rennie Curran for a dangerous hit to the head of Winnipeg Blue Bombers receiver Terrence Edwards during last Friday night's game.
On the play, it was determined Curran lowered his head and led with the top of his helmet. It was also determined that Curran's helmet was the primary and initial point of contact to the helmet of his opponent.
This type of play is dangerous to both players.
As per league policy, the amounts of the fines are not disclosed.

The league looks to finally be showing some consistency in regards to policing these head shots. Better late than never.
