I hope Reilly is starting. Nichols isn't doing it for me and I really don't like the way the team looks with him at the controls. Both sides of the ball looked lethargic, they looked tight and didn't play with a lot of passion. Just like how Nichols looked in Calgary and 50 mins of the last game.
Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.
For the Eskimos they have to use the running game before halftime.
As much as I am not pleased with our play on offense the questions that begs to be asked should be directly soley at Macadoo.... WHY THE HELL ARE WE NOT TRYING TO RUN THE BALL???? Injuries aside we were a one dimensional team against the mules and that made it easy for them. Coupled with our FAR TO FREQUENT use of hitch passes to the WR (given our shi**y blocking) which teams are easily reading, I would contend that other teams are finding it very easy to recognize our tendencies on offense. That starts with the o-coach and then trickles down to the o-players. No wonder we can rarely be successful with intermediate and deep routes more often.... like the last several years we are getting WAY TOO PREDICTABLE ON OFFENSE.

I agree Macadoo has to mix things up. If I were OC with Nichols I'd use quick crossers and speed Runs both up the middle with Calvin McCarty and outside with Kendial Lawrence . 4-6 yds per play should get the Job done. Quick hitters stop blitzes and when Lb's and safety comes in you have more time and space for deep routes.
I know I am not a professional coach but Nicholls needs support I think this game plan would have given it to him in my opinion.
Run the Ball up the gut around the horn it does not matter. We run we win what is so difficult to understand.
Classic problem with CFL offensive coordinators. They get down a few points and they think the only way they get back in the game is by striking quick, abandoning the run, and being stuck using the pass.
I've said it for years, that it is failed logic. The game is 60 minutes long. Stick with the run, wear down your opponant, especially if they think they've pushed you out of it. It makes your play action effective, it opens up quick strike passing if they have to keep their LB's in the box.
It irks me to no end.
Before you insult a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you insult him, you'll be a mile away, and have his shoes.

check downs and short passes to the rbs are supposed to be equal or as equal to running plays in this offence..

bingo
credit where credit due DD & cortez run and run from qtr 1 through 4.. and it shows
I don't give a **** Eskimos better win this game. I'm not predicting a massacre like their first game this season, but i don't see how the Esks lose this game. CJ was brought here so we don't go into these death streak losing spirals like we did during DM, RItchie, and Reed. And i don't think we will.
I think us losing the last 2 and the Als winning their last 2 may plant doubts in peoples minds, even if it's a 5% doubt they will win. Not me. I expect a win. I get that the Als will have more self confidence and this will make them dangerous. Sure. If it's a last second field goal... whatever. I'm 100% expecting a win tomorrow. I'm expecting the Esks to come out on fire and get at least a 3pt lead and then from there build up the game and take it home to a win.

Last year they effectively destroyed us on the arm of Neiswander.
...mind you, last year the defense was nonexistent...
And a couple or three years ago our D knocked Calvillo out of the game early only to have Macpherson rip us a new one, both running and passing. The Als are never an easy team to play and the Esks had better bring their A game. If they do it should be no contest.
