Don't much care for austins childlike ways but he is a damn good coach.. And having good coaches and players commit long term is good for our league

Another addition that got very little coverage is the Argos signing Kelly Jeffrey the HC of Mount Allison University as Special Teams coordinator. This is a guy I was really hoping to see in Montreal. The guy produced miracles at The Mount with the smallest budget in the CIS. Very similar style to Chris Jones but with a focus on the offensive side of the ball.

Looks like Sask has restructured Darian Durant's contract. No leak of the numbers yet.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced international quarterback Darian Durant has agreed to a new contract for the 2016 season. As per team policy, financial details of the contract were not released.

Durant is set to enter his 11th season with the Green and White after originally signing with the team as a free agent in 2006. The 33-year-old University of North Carolina product will enter 2016 among the franchise leaders in all statistical passing categories. His 24,668 passing yards and 135 touchdowns each rank third among the Riders all-time leaders - also putting him inside the top 25 all-time CFL leaders in both categories.

After dumping two high profile long time riders Durant knew enough not to test Jones.

Talk about not making any friends. Jones dumps 2 still very good, very popular, key vets, then goes to the #1 team leader and tells him he needs a pay cut. I'm sure Durant is really happy about not only losing his #1 favorite target but also getting to play for probably a lot less. Yikes. I'm sure all kinds of CFL free agents are just dying to go to Regina.
Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

I still could see them trying to get Trevor Harris when FA opens up. Tough to believe that they put their faith in a 33 yr. old QB that needs to be mobile to be effective, plus Durant has had injuries the last two seasons. I hear Harris wants very large dollars though, so maybe not room for two #1 starter salaries in their sms. They still have Smith and Price at QB to backup their starter.

A big amen to that. Hopefully the green raiders don't strike us again.

I thought Jones would dump Durant and pursue Harris for sure. 450k is still way top much to be paying a guy who has played just a couple games the last two years and is coming off of 2 major injuries. We didnt evem get to witness that he had recovered from his throwing elbow injury from 2014 before rupturing hia achilles in the 1st game last year. To be honest, i am quite happy that they are putting all of their eggs in the Durant basket again. I think it will work out well for the rest of the west division.

                        That 450k is incentive based
I will not, for a moment longer, support an organization who chooses to cowardly kneel where they once fiercely & proudly stood

Looks like Jonathan Himebauch can't keep still very long; he has left the Argos and is now the new O-line coach for the Nevada Wolfpack. It sounds like this was another "unexpected departure" from the double blue for Hime.

Weston Dressler close to signing with the Blue Bombers? Sounds like it'll happen.

should have instant chemistry with DW, good signing for them IMO

Dressler will hopefully light up the Riders every time he plays them which is fine by me.
