I understand the excitement around this event for some, but I would never pay that ridiculous kind of money to sit on my ass in the cold and watch a hockey game from so far away. Over $15 million in gate revenue. I guess Katz only gives a **** about the fans with deep pockets. They could have easily had this game on a Saturday and then followed it up with an oldtimers Oilers/Flames game on Sunday with cheaper seats so a lot of lesser off families could experience an event. They could have even donated a portion of the gate to some charity. **** Katz, the Oilers, and the NHL. CFL for me.Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

Is there anything that can be done with that stadium? Anytime there is a big event with a big crowd, the concourse is a disaster!! Last night, utter disaster to get anywhere. I was at Garth Brooks last year, same thing. For a stadium that big, it's not designed to have that many people in it.Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

We were down low on the side that Nickelback was facing. They were awesome. It was a great event. If it ever came back again, I'd go in a heartbeat and wouldn't bat an eye at the price. No offense to anyone in here but the atmosphere was 10 times better than any Elks game I had been too and would my wife and kids enjoy a night watching the Elks this much? No chance.Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

What are you getting at? You are borderline getting to the point of being insulting if you are questioning that I wasn't there. In the 25 yrs we had tickets, including all of the preseason games, regular season and playoffs, the amount of games we missed was pretty minimal. Typically they were because we had a family event we couldn't schedule around. So don't you dare question if I was a committed fan for all those years.Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

So I had 2 tickets and my parents had 2 tickets side by side. With my extra ticket, my wife would come sometimes, I would bring friends sometimes, when my kids were old enough, I brought them the odd time but they were young so it was hard give how long of a day it was coming from RD. My parents and I were the only 3 that were there for 25 yrs which is why our 3 names are on the plague.

Just confirming... I truly believe if there is a plague on the wall as you stated that your name would be on it.
Thanks for the response.
I will just add that if the Elks had 15 million in gate revenue each game like the Heritage Classic had, it would also be a helluva game day experience.Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

I also found the typo fun where you called it a plague instead of a plaque, especially when you did it in the second post as well. These last couple years have felt like the plague.Last edited by bone; 10-30-2023, 10:50 AM.

I am fully aware that even know not one person has met me in person, most don't like me or what I have to say. So let's keep it about football. Makes for way less tense conversations and avoids any misunderstandings.Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

But based on every article I have read about the games from the media, the comments I have heard from various media personnel on the radio and the countless comments from all of you who do go year after year, it sure doesn't sound like the game experience has changed much.

It started off as a throw away joke comment about having not been to an "Elks" game, which you've stated many time that you haven't been to a game in a few years, so what you said is very much factual, but he's just making a joke about you not personally witnessing it.
Now it is blown up into it being a full on personal attack.
I'm sorry you feel that way. I don't think many (if any) on here hate or even really dislike you and often probably agree with most of what you say, it's just how it's presented from time to time that I suspect has people rolling their eyes or shaking their head.
I'm sure you're a great dude and likely lots of fun to hang around, just sometimes take a step back and think of the chat on here as being the same as 5 guys around a poker table or a group of teammates in a dressing room post game shooting the ****. Sometimes people will take shots, but more often than not, it's meant in fun, and not always meant to be a personal attack.
