As I've shown I'm a huge Ford supporter and believe he has great potential and in the right hands, be a very good CFL QB. Is that now? Probally not. Next season? Maybe. We just dont know. We are not privy of the lockroom and behind the scenes. It's clear that he does need some learning to do before he can take over - if he even can. With Cody here it seems he's finally getting taught and seems to be involved in learning.. Not moping around with an aura of this is stupid. He seems engaged awith Cody and Cody seems engaged in teaching him.

Maybe Ford will pick it up and maybe he wont. Me nor Dealerd have any clue how this will play out. You can have your dislike for a player but to say things like He'll never be a starter in the CFL etc is a little off the wall no? We don't know how'll it go. Is Ford exciting. Hell yes.

I responded to Dealerd because I was tired of seeing his posts lambasting Ford for no real reason. Maybe I was a bit harsh, but he was the only thing remotely exciting to happen to Edmonton since the name change. My interest in the team was fading fast and when I got to watch Ford do ford things I was finally excited about Edmonton Ball. I guess I took offense to Dealerd's posting about the only reason I remained involved in the Elks ( ford) and went on the attack. It was Ford's play that kept me engaged.

I don't hate Cody, I was too harsh on him because I wanted to watch Ford. finally something entertaining and keeping me involved. Perhaps I had a blind eye somewhat to how bad Ford was playing... but things have evolved. Cody is winning and we have a Rankin. He's keeping me involved now that Ford is on the bench

I do apologize Dealerd and I will try to cool my jets on your posts. Afterall we both want the same thing and thats for Edmonton to be the dominate club once again. Be it with Ford or with Cody - we want the same thing.

Well said. And you're right, we all want the same things. Debate is healthy and I look forward to more of it. And squabbles happen. I'm glad that, ultimately, we all want the same thing. We want desperately for this team to return to their previous flagship status in this great league. Even if the team fails to make the playoffs this year (and it's still an uphill climb to say the least) then I can say I have legitimate hope going into next year, which is something I haven't had in a long time.

I'm sorry if you thought that's what I meant. The reason people don't post here like they used to is fairly obvious: the franchise has been in shambles for years and people have checked out. It's understandable. I only hope that people come back as the team repairs itself, on and off the field, because this used to be a very lively and entertaining forum. "A brotherhood of nasty Eskimos." Take this thread for instance. The team has won three in a row for the first time in seven years, the team finally has a glimmer of hope after years of being out of the playoffs by this time, and there are only three pages of posts. That's a far cry from how it used to be. And now, because so few people post, it gets a little tiring reading a squabble between people that turns personal. And it's certainly not just you guys. There have been other disputes that go on for weeks and get magnified simply because of how few posts there are.

For the record, I'm all for Cody Fajardo leading this team moving forward, but I'm certainly still on Tre's side as well. It's a luxury that this team hasn't had in a very long time--a veteran winner who is mentoring a young guy for the future. I'm all for it. And I don't buy into rumors about Cody valuing his completion percentage over winning. Some poster said that a few weeks ago (totally unsubstantiated) and it keeps getting repeated and now it's the truth. Imagine if that was how real journalism worked.

The name change sure took its toll. Also Forums aren't as popular as they once were. Back then this was the place to get Eskimo news and discuss it. Now we have Podcasts, reddit, discord, youtube etc.... its sad because I find forums to be the best out of the bunch

Of the 150 articles written about it, only one reporter actually contacted me --- the original one. The other 149 copied and copied, made mistakes, and the mistakes got copied... it was an eye opener.

Congratulations on the win streak. Still lots of work to do but at least you know your going to be in every game.

Ottawa is a decent team even without Dru Brown and it will be interesting to see how BC does against them in a couple of weeks. As for the game, credit special teams for being the difference imo not only with the return td but also on downfield tackling and maintaining field position. Both 41 and 51 stood out.

Should be a good game this week vs the Stamps.

Not sure this post held up well. Sure the defence struggled this season but we have new coaches, new systems and new players. It takes time. I was at the game and felt that, aside from the 3rd quarter and occasional breakdowns for some big gains, the D held strong. It seems to be coming together.
