    Desperate for football?

How do you rate? It occurs to me that this year I may have finally lost it.

    a) I booked off a week of work to attend Training camp.

    b) When discovering that one day of said week the team will be in Brandon I started figuring out whether we could make the 5 hour round trip without messing up our other scheduled activities.

    c) I've been checking in on the Stadium construction via live streaming video.

    d) We bought my son a new Bomber to wear in honour of Rookie camp.

    e) I spent the morning watching the first half of the Superbowl since it's the only football game still on the PVR (wife is a Packers fan).

I love your enthusiasm, but hate you because you're a bombers fan. I don't think you'll see many Esks fans admitting to that level of fanaticism, because they would immediately be ostracized for showing support for a team led by Tillman. But good on you for being so supportive.

Well, I AM supportive, but I'm also just needing football to watch. Any football (well, probably not arena). Just taking what's available for me!

        You'r not alone Macavity.

I'm currently stuck working a job that I hate for less money than I can afford to live on (its temporary but still...) and the only thing that has stopped me from looking for a new job is the fact that I happen to work evenings so I have been looking forward to being able to go to camp every morning in June for the last 3 months.

I have every game day booked off and I am even going to the BC game on July 16 despite it being my fiance's birthday, I'm already getting s*** for that but my hands are tied

I have 3 games from last season taped (Moncton game, OT game in BC, and home game against WPG) which I taped because I had a good feeling leading up to those games lol. And I bought the entire 2009 season on itunes, so I've been constantly watching and re watching those games.

Every time I walk or drive by CW I puase to soak it in lol.

I've been having reaccurring nightmares that I'm late for the opening kickoff of game 1.

I get angry when I turn on the radio and hear hockey talk, I wish there was a CFL network.

And I bought my daughter a new Eskimo jersey.

I've been counting down the SECONDS till TC since the final whistle in 2010.

I just hope football is what the Esks provide for us this year.

I've been watching 3-4 Eskimo games a week the past month, going back from the 1950s through the early part of the 2000s. It keeps me (relatively) sane for now........

Look. We can go round and round about this all the live long day. Let's keep it simple. I embody amazement. Can you dig on that? Good. Then meet me on the corner of rock and roll, and bring a flask of something that burns.

I dunno...just don't have the same passion right now. Maybe that'll change during the season. I still love the sport, but so many of the guys I believed in on this team are gone now. It'll take a while to get used to the new team.
Out of my mind; back in five minutes.

                      I'm excited.

Re-runs of Michael Vick's 6 TDs against Washington and the Miracle In The Meadowlands #2 still give me chills, but I'd like something new. :P

                        Re: Desperate for football?

Don't have anything taped but I can't wait for CFL football. Am constantly surfing the web looking for any CFL related articles/audio/video. Am checking a lot of sites on a daily basis for anything CFL related. Have also bought my daughter her first EE jersey and we are planning to make it to most games this year. If not for this site I am sad to say that by now I may have gone mad suffering from withdrawl...just love talking CFL football. Although I have not been happy with a lot of the things that have occurred around the igloo recently I can honestly say that I am amped for the upcoming season and can't wait to attend fan day with my little girl. Her first one was last year and we want to make it an annual event. So yeah, I'm desperate for CFL football...also love your passion...as far as you being a bombers fan we can live with that...until they line up against each other on game day then it's a case of show no mercy and "Bombers Suck" which is just my way of showing respect for your team. I can honestly say that I do not have a second favorite CFL team (although there are teams that I dislike more than others...cough...riders...cough). Last year when the esks got eliminated from contention I just watched the playoffs and GC while crying in my beer...this year's going to be different...at least that's what I'm telling myself right now.

I'm in a panic because there likely won't be an NFL season this year. I haven't had Eskimos season tickets in 2 years now for a number of reasons that have been beaten to death on this board. But I plan on watching a lot of CFL football on TV this year, and I'll be going nuts when the NFL is supposed to be going on. I might actually have to start watching hockey again this fall.

Yep, I'm scared to death of the lockout. If it's not Eskimos, I prefer the NFL lately as a lot of things in the CFL have gone to hell the last couple years (officiating, mostly). Also am a huge Michael Vick (and Eagles) fan, so if there's no NFL, I will cry on a daily basis.

Combine that with my other favorite sport, the NBA, and that will be going on a lockout as well.

My sports watching future is very grim at the moment.
