I think a more experienced GM could have got more from Popp for Glenn. I realize we only got a 7th for Nichols - and although there was a limited market for both QB's, this is a slightly different scenario. The Als are chasing a playoff spot. You thing ego-manic Popp wants to have a worse record than the coach he fired? I think if you play up on that, you might get more than a fifth rounder from Popp. Might be wrong, but always fun to speculate.

Messam must have left a bad impression on EH, cause his skill and passport would have put us over the top but if he brings dressing room issues, they can have him.

Based on history, was quite sure Jerome wasn't gonna be an Eskimo again.
So, I'm guessing Cornish is a bit banged up after that last game.

I love what he brings to the table bust as others have said if he is not a team first guy than forget it.

That is a solid 1-2 punch in all likelihood coming to town in late Nov in the cold, awful weather. If it wasn't the Stamps I'd say it was a great move.

Past issues aside, we should have grabbed Messam. After almost seeing his career slip away a couple of times maybe he's matured a bit. And if not our locker room is rock solid, those guys would have kept him in line.

I would have liked to see Messam here for the playoffs anyways. If he has an attitude dump him for next season but the guy can be a game changer we know that. Something we can't say about any of our current backs.

I don't doubt for a second that Messam would have been a great addition. Indeed, he may come back to haunt us come November. But at the same time, that's a bridge that wasn't just burnt. It was soaked in gasoline and had a gazillion sticks of dynamite stuck to it first.

It's unfortunate we didn't get him, but what's done is done. Let's hope we know how to stop him.

He burnt the bridge here. Hes on the wrong side of 30, has an attitude, pulls himself off the field frequently... I'm not all that worried about him even if we end up facing Calgary in the playoffs to be honest.

Makes me think that there something more wrong with Cornish than just being banged up. He has had a couple of very serious concussions in the last few seasons.

I don't know guys, Messam and Cornish in the backfield scares me a lot. We aren't great at stopping either of them.

I sure wish we would have gone after Edam, especially for a 6th rounder or whatever he went for.
