    Final GDT - Week 20 - Lions @ Elks

Hope, at the end of the day connects us all, no matter how different we are

    Keeping my comments short.

I looked at every depth chart this season and Thomas has lined up exclusively at D end for every game he played except this last one. Unexpected.
Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

      Good point.
Willie Jefferson was a linebacker (and a receiver before that) in college that Chris Jones converted to DE. I suspect there was a similar thought process in moving Thomas from his linebacker spot he played in Florida to a DE as well. He has speed and led Florida St. in tackles his senior year, so the conversion makes some sense. It will definitely be interesting to see how he manages the middle in our final game. Good luck Matthew. Show us your stuff!

It's a " no give a s*** " game for us anyway. I actually expected a few more tweeks. A bit surprised Foucault moves out to OT. Just wondering if he has the mobility. Nice to see Pelley back.

I think he was listed as a linebacker one of the games but I could be wrong. He also played linebacker in college so they may just want to see how he fairs in the middle. Apparently he's a really good athlete, guess we shall see.

Easy buddy. I am not taking a shot at the team, Just making an observation that stood out to me. That is allowed here still or am I not allowed to say anything at all now?

I am assuming this will be the last of Lacey. Morgan when healthy has shown he can play pretty well. Watson has promise and now they are seeing what Thomas can do.

I hope that's not to negative for you Esks4ever. Just making an observation on who looks to be head of Lacey potentially for next season.

I preferred how they used Lacy last time he was here which was primarily on ST’s and rotating in at DE, he seemed more effective there than at MLB

I think you're right, unless he doesn't mind the role he was in this year, which was a mentor type role.

                        I'll allow it.

Hopefully the Elks have come up with a better blocking scheme or are doing something to provide Forde with better protection than what they have been giving Cornelius. His mobility will help but Cornelius is pretty mobile and he's taken some punishment most games and Forde is giving up 40 lbs on Cornelius.

Funny how that goes. Oline knowing what the QB is going to do helps.

Calgary with two flat foots at QB's and multiple changes to the line have only given up something like 16 sacks, Sask with Fajardo is in the 60"s. BC took a giant step forward with almost the same line after Nathan Rourke started playing.

Elks should be top notch given their personnel and didn't seem like they really missed Matt O'Donnell or Colin Kelly much if at all. I have no doubt there will several new bodies in camp competing for LT next season. Interesting to see Foucault there this week.
