Dave Campbell anticipating the o-line to be a little different than the depth chart is showing...

#Elks add two more players to their 6-game injured list. LB Enock Makonzo (foot) and OL Josiah St. John (hand). OL Brett Boyko will be on the roster but unlikley to start at RT. Expect David Foucault and RT and Phillip Grohavac at LG. #CFL

        Makonzo is a significant loss.

Methinks this is going to get ugly fast. Though I guess it's possible anybody could be an improvement on St. Johns at RT. Losing Makonzo is also huge.

I don't see how this game will go well.

The Riders are coming off a bye so they should be rested, fairly heathy and prepared.
The Riders are a good rushing team and the Elks struggle to stop the run.
The Elks Oline is really poor with no signs of improvement.
Blindly accept whatever they do and if it doesn't work out, I guess there's always next year.

So this is the game we actually play well

For the record I have the same feelings

Your guess is as good as mine. I assumed they might show some life against Ottawa but they looked worse.

What troubles me the most is there appears to be no urgency to address the main problem. Their Oline is extremely poor to the point, it's crippling their offense. When your offense can't do anything, your defense has to be on the field more plus it puts more pressure on them. Look at the starters on the Oline again. Basically the same guys. Boyko who everyone says isn't very good, has only been here for a couple of days so he's unlikely to play so all they are doing is now playing Foucault out of position and playing a back up center at guard. So the likelihood it will be better is extremely low.

Then look at the signings. The need is at Oline so who have they brought in, in the last 2-weeks? 1 Olineman 2 days ago, 3 linebackers and 1 fullback. Where are the Olinemen? If I was in charge, I would be doing whatever I could to bring in more Olinemen even if they are American. The 4 Canadians IS NOT WORKING. So look at starting 2 Americans. How do you make the ration work? Try starting 2 Canadians at Wideout, vs 1 Canadian and 1 American. Put Forbes and Cobb as your starting wide outs, then have Mitchell, Dumbar and French/Moore as your slot back and receiver. Their QB's don't have the time to throw to your wide outs so using an American spot on a guy who will never see the ball is a waste. Until they can protect the QB, it doesn't matter who's at receiver.

The riders have a lot of injuries at wr but yeah if they can run it down our throats that won't matter. To win this game we have to be +1 or +2 on turnovers and can't allow any big plays. Force them to dink and dunk then kick fgs. There's a reason we're 7.5 point dogs.

I don't understand how we haven't given Churchill or Nelson a start yet, unless they're actually injured. They can't be worse then what we've been seeing and if they are its time to cut ties as this group is not good enough.

Exactly. They have been with the team since camp, surely they know the offense and calls. What's the worst that can happen, the Oline misses blocks? They already have mastered that. Other than QB, there sure seems to be an extreme level of stubbornness when it comes to parts of the team. I know I advocated continuity but when your group sucks as bad as they have been, you have to change things.

Feels like Week 16 in that the season's virtually done already.

I honestly believe much of our o-line would fair quite well with a different line coach. I'll blame the player if you're slow and can't contain the outside rush, but there is absolutely no push forward from this line and I have to believe it is scheme related. Saskatchewan had the exact same issue last season.
